PowerAMS is a SaaS platform for professional associations and event-driven organizations. It combines membership, event management, registration, CE credits, communications, project management and a branded mobile event app in one system. The Challenge: Seven Tools, Six Logins, One Fragmented Member Record

Associations usually run on a patchwork: a membership platform, an event registration tool, an email broadcast service, a form builder, a badge printing vendor and a separate mobile event app. That means separate invoices, contracts and support threads, and member data split across disconnected systems. The goal was to replace this stack with one database, one billing system and one login.

We built PowerAMS as a modular platform where member status, registration history, payment state, earned credits and event attendance all live in one record.

Sessions, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors with booth staff, QR check-in, on-demand badge printing and sponsor lead retrieval, for in-person, virtual and hybrid events.

Custom registration forms, tiered pricing by registration period, group registrations and built-in payment processing.

Membership Management

Unlimited membership tiers, auto-renewal with failed-payment handling, saved-card billing and a self-service member portal.

CE Credit Tracking

Credit values per session, learner histories rolled up for each member, and certificates that generate automatically.

Communications

Automated lifecycle emails, a drag-and-drop broadcast composer and reusable audience segments, with SendGrid domain authentication (DKIM/CNAME verification).

Project Management

Event-scoped projects and tasks, timesheets that roll up to event P&L, and role-based staff permissions.

A Branded Mobile Event App for iOS and Android

We built the PowerAMS member app in React Native as a conference and membership companion. It covers event registration, a personal agenda builder, digital badges, session streaming, CE credit tracking, attendee messaging, push notifications and a gamified leaderboard. It was built to meet Apple App Store requirements, including block-and-report controls in messaging.

Engineering Highlights

• Scalable architecture: Node.js and TypeScript backend with JWT authentication and a clean route, controller and handler structure.
• High-volume data imports: a bulk CSV import pipeline for members and contacts, with custom fields, data tags, duplicate detection and case-insensitive email matching. Batched MongoDB writes cut database calls by roughly 100x.
• Granular permissions: role-based create, read, update and delete access across broadcasts, segments and other modules.
• Safe data operations: maintenance scripts with dry-run modes and detailed logging.

The Outcome

PowerAMS now runs membership, events, registration, CE credits, communications and on-site operations from one platform. Its customers include professional associations, state government bodies and higher-education institutions. Association teams stop switching between seven tools, and members get one consistent experience from signup to event day.
